Happy Summer!

I hope your summer is starting off great and all you gardeners out there have started watching your plants sprout up. This time of year is a reminder that we are all growing and sprouting into awesome club members and amazing leaders of GFWC Illinois. As things start heating up, weather wise, the clubs are heating up and are hot to start their new projects or continuing projects.

We are not only the “UnFROGettable” Juniors, we are dedicated clubwomen that work hard to raise a family, work a job, and dedicate themselves to making their community a great place to live.

Use this time to talk to women about your club and all the amazing projects you do for your community. Let them know that you MAKE the time to help in your community and make a difference in the lives of women and children through your club work. Then invite them to your first meeting in the fall. Imagine if every member brought just one friend to one meeting. Can you imagine???

I live in a small town of 5,500, and would you believe there are STILL people that live there that have never heard of my club? Talk about opportunities to reach out and invite. You know that almost 95% of new members attended their first meeting by an invitation of another member?

So let’s review why I have Frogs as my symbol. Your friend is a tadpole, just starting out. She gets involved in her community which helps her to grow legs. And as she develops her confidence in herself and continues to work in her community, she becomes a full grown frog. As a full grown frog she will attend club meetings regularly, District meetings, Region Meetings, and State Convention where she will witness other clubs within her District, Region, AND State doing so much for their community and making an unFrogettable difference!!

Junior Club Presidents can expect a letter soon from me, introducing myself and letting them know that I will be starting something new – I will be sending a personal email to ALL Junior Club Presidents! That’s right, I will be keeping in constant contact with these presidents. The way I see it, the only way we can be unFROGettable is to “REACH OUT…. CONNECT” and make Illinois General Federation of Women’s Clubs the best!

In Junior Friendship, Cherie
