Hello GFWC IL Juniors!
Welcome to the 2016-2018 GFWC IL Junior Administration! There are not enough words to tell you how honored and blessed I feel to be your Director of Junior Clubs. We will be GFWC IL Juniors…helping design better lives. Our colors will be black and white. Why did I choose black and white? First, it is a classic color combination that I think most everyone likes. The colors are so diverse however they come together brilliantly, which of course reflects the GFWC motto Unity in Diversity. Why all those patterns? Stripes, Chevron, Polka-Dots and Diamonds? Pretty much anything goes, if it is black and white and it is some sort of pattern you are in. We accept all people no matter who they are, we will help all people no matter who they are. No one type of person is better than the other. I was trying to show that diversity. You’ve heard me say pretty much anything goes.
Of course we will support the GFWC IL Junior Project, Children’s Research Foundation, the GFWC IL Project, Illinois Prevent Child Abuse…Our Promise a Safe Place for Every Child and the GFWC Project Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention. However I have decided not to select a Director’s Special Emphasis. Nothing I could choose would be better that what you and your club choose. If you pick something, a project or program that touches your heart, that you see a need for, that you know you will help others, that is what I want you to devote your time, talent and energy to. Your passion will come through and you will succeed at demonstrating and living out our motto: GFWC IL Juniors…helping design better lives!
I hope you are planning on attending the Summer Seminar Region Meetings. Southern Region in Effingham on Thursday July 14th, Central Region in Bloomington on Friday July 15th and Northern Region in Lisle on Saturday, July 16th. These meetings will be packed full of information, not only for the GFWC IL 2016-2018 Administration, but also for GFWC. The new GFWC Club Manual should be released soon and our chairman will be presenting tried and true project suggestions, along with new ideas for helping design better lives. Watch our GFWC IL Junior Facebook page for all the details!
Lastly, I hope you and your family enjoy your summer. Be sure to spend some time relaxing and re-energize so you will be ready to hit the club year with a bang!
If you need anything, have any questions or just want to chat, I’m here…
In federation friendship,
Jeanette
